Editorial Policy — How CanadaCasinos.io Produces Reviews

This page explains how CanadaCasinos.io approaches editorial work, what we publish, how we source it, how reviews get scored, and how we handle corrections. If you’re looking for methodology details, see the methodology page. For affiliate disclosure, see our affiliate disclosure.

What we cover

Online casinos accessible to Canadian players, primarily iGaming Ontario licensed operators for Ontario residents, and offshore operators licensed under recognized frameworks (Malta Gaming Authority, Kahnawake, Curaçao) for Canadian players outside Ontario. We cover the games they stock, the bonuses they offer, the tools they provide for responsible gambling, the regulations that govern them, and how all of that affects actual player experience.

Sourcing

Our primary sources are:

  • Direct testing. We register accounts at operators we review, deposit real money, play real sessions, and request withdrawals.
  • Operator terms and policies. Bonus T&Cs, withdrawal terms, responsible-gambling pages, privacy policies, KYC documentation.
  • Publicly available official sources. AGCO publications, iGaming Ontario operator registry, BCLC, AGLC, and equivalent provincial bodies; government gambling pages; industry regulator statements.
  • Player feedback. Reddit threads, forum posts, and other public discussions, treated as anecdotal supporting context, not primary evidence, and never used to establish hard facts without independent verification.

How we use AI tools

We may use AI tools to help organize research, summarize long source documents, outline content, or support drafting. AI output is not treated as a source. Every published article is reviewed, edited, and approved by a member of our editorial team. AI does not write anything that reaches publication without human review.

Review process

Every casino review and game review goes through a two-step process: a primary author writes the piece based on direct testing and source materials; an editor fact-checks against the methodology rubric and sourcing guidelines before publication. For pages with regulatory or compliance implications, our editorial director (Matt Denney) performs the final review.

Reviews are refreshed weekly for short-form data points (game counts, bonus terms, payout speeds) and monthly for full re-scoring. Quarterly, every review receives a deep audit. Material events, AGCO enforcement actions, licence changes, major T&C updates, trigger an immediate re-publish.

Accountability

Every review on CanadaCasinos.io includes a byline identifying the author and (where applicable) the fact-checker. Author profiles link to the pages that person is responsible for, the role they hold, and their public editorial track record on the site. We don’t publish anonymous reviews.

Advertising and editorial separation

Paid placements are clearly labelled (Sponsored, Featured, Paid placement) and are visually separated from editorial rankings on the same page. Commercial arrangements with operators never affect editorial ratings, review content, or ranking positions in methodology-driven tables. See our methodology and affiliate disclosure for full detail.

Report an error

If you spot a factual error, email editorial@canadacasinos.io. We log every reported error, verify it against source documentation, and correct the page with a dated footnote. See our corrections policy for full detail.
