Why Bonuses Aren't Shown

Ontario & Alberta Players:
Here's Why You Don't
See Bonus Offers

You're not missing anything. The casinos absolutely have bonuses and welcome offers. We're legally prohibited from publishing them for players in regulated Canadian provinces, and this page explains exactly why, and what to do instead.

Bonuses still exist

The Honest Answer
"Why don't you show casino bonuses for Ontario and Alberta?"
Because a Canadian law, AGCO Standard 2.05, makes it illegal for affiliate sites like ours to publicly display bonus offers for licensed casinos in regulated provinces. This applies to every affiliate site in Canada, not just us.
"So those casinos don't have bonuses?"
They absolutely do. Every major iGO-licensed Ontario casino and every AGLC-registered Alberta casino offers promotions, welcome packages, and ongoing offers to their players. We just can't advertise them for you.
"That seems pointless. Why does this law exist?"
The regulation exists to protect players from aggressive bonus marketing, the kind of "get $2,000 FREE" advertising that can encourage problem gambling. We don't think the rule is perfect either, but we comply with it.
"OK. So what should I actually do?"
Use our reviews to choose the right casino based on quality, safety, and what matters to you. Then visit that casino directly, every welcome offer and promotion will be shown to you on their platform.

The Regulation That Prevents Us Showing Bonuses

In April 2022, Ontario launched Canada's first privately-operated regulated iGaming market. The regulator, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), established a set of Standards for Internet Gaming that all operators and their marketing partners must follow. Standard 2.05 is the one that affects what you see on this site.

AGCO Registrar's Standard 2.05, Official Text
"Advertising and marketing materials that communicate gambling inducements, bonuses and credits are prohibited, except on an operator's gaming site and through direct advertising and marketing, after receiving active player consent."

In plain terms: bonuses, welcome offers, free spins, deposit matches, and any other promotional incentive cannot be publicly advertised, not on TV, not on social media, and not on affiliate review sites like ours. The only places they can appear are on the operator's own platform (after you've signed up) and via direct messages you've specifically opted into through that operator's own site.

Alberta's AGLC framework, launched in January 2026, applies the same principle. Alberta's standards say operators can't push sign-up offers, bonus credits, or other inducements to the general public, promotions can still exist, but they're meant to live inside the operator's own channels. We suppress bonus content for Alberta visitors for the same reason we do for Ontario.

Our Honest Take on the Rule

We'll be direct: this regulation creates a genuine frustration for informed players, and we hear it all the time. The policy was designed to stop predatory mass-market bonus advertising, giant billboards and TV spots screaming "Get $1,500 free!" at anyone watching a hockey game. That goal is legitimate.

But the rule also catches responsible, transparent affiliate journalism in the same net. A player actively searching for a casino review, someone who has come to this site looking specifically to compare offers, is very different from someone passively watching TV. Industry observers noted that players can't be shown which operator bonuses offer good value or which bonuses are particularly hard to achieve, leaving consumers less informed as a result.

Our position
We believe bonus advertising restrictions should distinguish between mass-market advertising and informed consumer research. We don't believe a player actively reading a detailed casino review is the target this law was designed to protect. But we operate within the law as it stands, and we'll continue to do so. We will never compromise our AGCO compliance to show you bonus information we're not permitted to display.

What we can tell you is that major operators like BetMGM and DraftKings have already been fined by the AGCO for violating Standard 2.05, the regulator actively enforces this rule. Our compliance is genuine and non-negotiable.

Bonuses Are Real, Here's What Actually Exists

Just because we can't show them doesn't mean they don't exist. Every major iGO-licensed Ontario casino and every AGLC-registered Alberta casino offers promotions to its players. Here's what you can expect to find when you visit a licensed casino directly:

Welcome Packages
Most licensed casinos offer a welcome bonus for new players, typically a deposit match and/or free spins. The exact terms (match %, cap, wagering requirement) are displayed on the casino's own site.
Reload Bonuses
Ongoing players are often eligible for weekly or monthly reload bonuses, top-up offers on subsequent deposits. These are communicated via the casino's email and in-app messaging after you opt in.
Free Spins Promotions
Slot-specific free spin offers are common, either as part of welcome packages or as standalone promotions tied to new game launches from major software providers.
VIP and Loyalty Programmes
All major licensed casinos operate loyalty schemes, points programmes, VIP tiers, and cashback offers. These are a core part of the player relationship that happens on-platform.
Opt-In Direct Marketing
Under AGCO Standard 2.07, once you've registered and opted in on the casino's site, the casino can legally send you personalised promotional offers via email, SMS, and push notifications.
The bonuses are waiting for you on the casino's site.
Under AGCO Standard 2.05, once players choose to visit an operator's gaming site or app, inducement, bonus and credit offers may be displayed. The moment you arrive at the casino's site, you're in the right place to see exactly what's on offer.

What To Do Instead, The Smart Path

Here's the thing: relying on bonus size to pick a casino is actually one of the worst ways to choose. A flashy welcome offer with a 60x wagering requirement on a platform with poor UX and slow payouts is a worse deal than a modest offer on a casino that actually delivers. Our job is to help you find the better casino, the bonus is just the cherry on top once you get there.

Once registered, opt in to the casino's promotional communications. Under AGCO Standard 2.07, you'll then receive personalised bonus offers directly from the casino via email and in-app messaging.

How to Evaluate a Bonus Once You're There

When you visit a casino and see their welcome offer, here's what to look at. These are the terms that determine whether a bonus is actually worth claiming:

Wagering Requirement
How many times you must wager the bonus amount before withdrawing. Under 30x is fair. Over 60x is very hard to clear. "30x on deposit + bonus" is different from "30x on bonus only", check carefully.
Time Limit
How many days you have to meet the wagering requirement. 30 days is reasonable. 7 days is very tight. A bonus you can't clear in time is worthless.
Maximum Win Cap
Many bonuses cap the amount you can win from bonus funds, often $100-$500. If you hit a big win while playing with bonus money, this cap determines what you can keep.
Eligible Games
Most bonuses only count towards certain games. Slots typically contribute 100%. Live casino and table games often contribute 10-20% or nothing. Check which games are included before choosing.
Minimum Deposit
The minimum deposit required to trigger the bonus. Most regulated Canadian casinos have a $10-$20 minimum. Higher-minimum casinos sometimes offer better odds on the bonus terms.
AGCO Compliance
Under AGCO Standard 2.06, any bonus advertised on a licensed Ontario or Alberta casino's site must disclose all material conditions at first presentation. If terms are buried, that's a red flag.
